Specifically, we'll want to install version 17 with Oracle's open JDK. To create the project, we'll want to download a new JDK or Java Development Kit. Let's create a new project using IntelliJ. Before downloading it, make sure you're set to the right platform. While the ultimate version comes with some cool features, the Community Edition will work just fine for most use cases. IntelliJ is a tool we can use to write and run our Java code. The easiest way to install the newest version of Java is to use IntelliJ.
